HA Profile
The Principal of HA is Alan Haintz – Alan is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, and has a lengthy background in the insurance, funds management and banking industries. He began his career with a composite (i.e. life and general) insurance group, and became its Senior Actuary, responsible for product pricing and profitability, valuation of liabilities, and statutory reporting.
In 1985 he joined the fledgling funds management division of National Australia Bank, where, as the Appointed Actuary (a statutory position), he carried out a similar role, but also became involved in many aspects of banking. From a greenfields operation, that division has become one of the major players in the Australian funds management area.
Besides his actuarial qualifications, Alan is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and he served on the boards of several of NAB’s subsidiary companies. He was until recently chairman of Prime Value Asset Management Limited, a boutique investment fund manager.
Alan left NAB in 2000, and has since built up a thriving consultancy practice, operating initially as a sole trader, but as HA since 1 July 2010.
By drawing on Alan’s wealth of experience and actuarial skills, HA provides quality work with an excellent turn-around time. Alan is responsible for all work performed by HA, but to ensure best practice outcomes, he is able to draw on other actuaries to provide input for more technical work and to provide peer review.
